Dr. Van Kelly received his PhD in computer science from Rutgers in 1985. He held senior R&D positions at Bell Labs, Motorola, and FiberControl until 2010, when he returned to academia at YU to teach computer science from an industrial perspective. His interests are in software engineering principles, artificial intelligence, web programming, and databases.
